This page is not officialy part of my video business site, but is of a trip the family I went on to Beaches Turks and Caicos in 2004. I have always been frustrated by the retouched video and still images the Beaches and Sandals resorts use in their brochures and promotional DVD and CDROMs because the properties are so gorgeous they don't need it (provided the photographer or videographer is a professional). I really feel it hurts the resort's credibility (particularly with people who understand image retouching). So here is real, unretouched video from Beaches Turks and Caicos resort; this has not been altered in any way and was not approved of or endorsed by Beaches. This is not meant to be a marketing piece, but just some candid views of the resort.

A few things should be noted:

This was filmed in January which is low season. I can't vouch for how the resort would look at other times of year. When we were there, it was uncrowded and beautiful.

I didn't have to wait for perfect weather days; it looked like this most of the time.

You will see a good bit of French Village footage because that is where we stayed and it is also the newest part of the resort.

This is my third Beaches / Sandals trip. We have also been to Sandals Halcyon St Lucia (we visited the other two resorts on the island also) and Sandals Royal Caribbean (with visits to Montego Bay). We are true dyed-in-the-wool Sandals / Beaches fans.

Things you won't see:

I didn't have my underwater rig with me at the time (remember I am supposed to be vacationing) so I can't show all of the wonderful undersea life which is right off the beach. If you go to the beach and turn left there is an awesome formation of Fire Coral in 3 to 15 feet of water about a quarter mile up the beach. There is a rope around the actual Fire Coral so you don't accidentally touch it. Around this formation we saw Barracuda, Rays, Sea Turtles and hundreds of beautiful fish.

On one of the snorkel excursions (which are free) we saw numerous other formations and saw "Jo Jo", the area's resident dolphin.

As for the King Crab legs at Schooner's, I was too busy stuffing myself to actually film them, but they were great (Pre-cracked for your convenience).

Enjoy!
